CHRISTOPHER BARKS – FAA
Christopher Barks leads the FAA Senior Representatives in Miami, Panama, and Brazil and a staff in Washington to coordinate all FAA international activities with partners in the Americas and the Caribbean. He has a Master’s degree in German and European Studies, and Bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and German Studies. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
EDMAR BULL – ABAV
Business administrator, acted in the companies Transeuropa, Promotur and Expansão. He is the CEO of Copastur group, which includes the companies Corporate Travel, G8 Serviços Especiais de Viagens and ATPI representation in Brazil. Leader of ABAV-SP for the period of 12 years, he was elected by acclamation chairman of the entity for the exercise of two consecutive terms, from 2008 to 2012. Since 2012, he exerts the chairman mandate in Abracorp Board of Directors and the vice-presidency of ABAV Nacional, entity that he begin to preside for the biennium 2015/2017.
EDUARDO SANOVICZ – ABEAR
Eduardo Sanovicz is the president of ABEAR, a Ph.D. and Professor of the Tourism Program at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities at USP (University of São Paulo). He also acted as a senior consultant for programs and actions in the field of Marketing and Tourism. He graduated in History and has a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Communication Sciences rom the University of São Paulo. Between 2007 and 2010, he was a Director at Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado. Between 2001 and 2007, he was a Vice President at the ICCA – International Congress & Convention Association. From January 2003 to August 2006, he was the President of Embratur and was responsible for the implementation of Plano Aquarela and for the creation of the Brazil Brand. From January 2001 to January 2003, he was the President of Anhembi Turismo e Eventos in the City of São Paulo and, from April 1997 to December 2000, Chief Operating Officer at São Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau. He was the Director of Tourism for the Municipality of Santos, from 1993 to 1996.

Jeanine Pires is an event and tourism economics specialist. She has a degree in History, a post-graduate degree in Social Sciences, in Tourism Economics and a Master in Tourism in Spain. She has been Director and President of EMBRATUR and is currently Director of Pires e Associados, President of the Advisory Board of WTM Latin America and a blogger at Portal Panrotas.
JOÃO PITA – GRU AIRPORT
Airline business professional with close to 10 year experience in Route Development and auxiliary businesses for Airlines. Currently is the Airline Business Manager for GRU AIRPORT. Holds a PhD in Transport Systems from the University of Coimbra / MIT Portugal with focus on Airline Business – Network Development. Member of the ACI Slot Expert Group and co-supervisor of two PhD students.
KENNETH CURRIE – InterVISTAS
Leads InterVISTAS finance and commercial practice, successfully assisting clients to identify and tap hidden value in aviation assets, allowing them to successfully maximize the value of their portfolios. He is an expert in activity forecasting and business plan development with emphasis on legal and economic analyses of airline and airport issues.
MAGDAR NASSAR – BRAZTOA
Magda has being elected on 2015 as the first ever woman elected for the presidency of the Association. In less than a year of her tenure, has led relevant institutional and commercial projects to domestic tourism, including the incentive campaign Passport Braztoa and its year-ending events Braztoa Experience.
MICHAEL NAGY – RIO CONVENTION E VISITORS BUREAU
Graduated from Westminster College in London, Michael Nagy has extensive experience acting in different sectors of the tourism industry – travel agency, events organization and hospitality. Before becoming the commercial diretor of Rio CVB, Michael was in charge of the company´s institutional relations, developing projects, partnerships and business opportunities directed to its members. Prior to joining Rio CVB team, the executive has worked at Pestana Hotels & Resorts and Othon Hotels. When in São Paulo, he was named the Sales & Marketing Director at the Gran Meliá WTC Hotel..
PETER CERDA – IATA
Is the Regional Vice President in the Americas for IATA, the trade association whose 260 member airlines transport more than 84% of total air traffic. He leads a multinational team of professionals which proactively pursue IATA’s industry priorities with governmental authorities and industry stakeholders to make the air transport industry safer, more secure, efficient and profitable. Peter possesses a wealth of senior industry experience acquired over a long and successful career in aviation. Most recently, he served as Regional Director for Safety, Operations and Infrastructure for the Americas and Atlantic until 2013. Fluent in English and Spanish, Peter was born in Spain and received his Master’s Degree in Aeronautics and Aviation Management from Embry Riddle University and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Florida International University.
ROGÉRIO COIMBRA – MINISTÉRIO DOS TRANSPORTES
Is a civil servant specialist in policy and governmental management. He is graduated in Management and postgraduated in Management of Civil Aviation both of them by the University of Brasilia. Since 2004 he works in governments agencies charged with the regulation of civil aviation. Besides, he is member of Air Transport Regulation Panel of International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO. Nowadays, Mr. Coimbra is Secretary for Civil Aviation Regulatory Policy of Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation.
TARCISIO GARGIONI – AVIANCA
Prior to joining aviation, exercised executive positions in various companies in the transportation and logistics segment for 20 years. (Modal: road, maritime and rail.)
His career in the airline industry has begun in 1990 as director of loads of VASP for 10 years. After that, he participated in the co-founder of GOL Group, where he held the Vice President role on the commercial, marketing and services areas for 10 years.
He is currently VP of Avianca Brazil, having under their command areas: Commercial, Marketing, Cargo, Customer Service, Loyalty Program “Amigo”, Corporate Communications and Institutional Company.
VINICIUS LUMMERTZ – EMBRATUR
Vinicius Lummertz holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the American University of Paris, a postgraduate degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School, in the IMD of Lausanne, Switzerland, and an Executive -MBA from Amana Key in São Paulo. He currently holds the position of President of the Brazilian Tourism Board – EMBRATUR.
