Is currently serves as Regional Director of APCS for The Americas. Amongst his objectives are the promotion of IATA`s Passenger and Cargo Agendas, which include projects on revolutionizing the travel experience for passengers and the elimination of paper from the Cargo processes through the implementation of e-freight. On the airport side, Filipe coordinates IATA initiatives on improving security and facilitation, as well as engagements on airport expansions and modernization. Lastly, Filipe leads IATA engagements with airports and regulatory bodies in regards to developments on new regulations, charges and taxation.

Jane Hupe is the ICAO Director responsible for the environmental programme of the Organization. Her responsibilities include directing ICAO environmental activities, and serving as the Secretary of the ICAO Council’s Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP). Ms. Hupe has a Master’s degree in Aviation from the ENAC, and many other post-graduate degrees, including in environmental auditing.

He leads a multinational team of professionals which proactively pursue IATA’s industry priorities with governmental authorities and industry stakeholders to make the air transport industry safer, more secure, efficient and profitable. Peter possesses a wealth of senior industry experience acquired over a long and successful career in aviation. Most recently, he served as Regional Director for Safety, Operations and Infrastructure for the Americas and Atlantic until 2013. Fluent in English and Spanish, Peter was born in Spain and received his Master’s Degree in Aeronautics and Aviation Management from Embry Riddle University and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Florida International University.
PHILIPPE MERLO– EUROCONTROL
He took up his duties as Director ATM at EUROCONTROL on 2014 and is responsible for the Air Traffic Management Directorate which includes ATM strategies, R&D and SESAR Contribution Management, and civil-military ATM coordination. In this role, he leads and coordinates ATM development to achieve the objectives of the Single European Sky and the performance scheme. He has spent his entire career in ATM, having worked for the French DGAC (Directorate General for Civil Aviation) since graduating as a civil aviation engineer from the “Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile” in Toulouse. He started work as a flight test engineer and steadily rose within the organisation in managerial functions of increasing responsibility, including four years as Head of the En-Route ATC Centre in Bordeaux. In 2010 he became Deputy CEO of the DSNA, the French Air Navigation Service Provider.

For the last 24 years, Ricardo Bernardi has been providing full assistance to top international airlines operating in Brazil, aviation underwriters, aircraft manufacturing companies, airport operators as well as aircraft financing and leasing companies, assisting foreign lessors and lenders in various forms of transactions involving business jets and helicopters.
RICARDO CATANANT – ANAC
Bachelor Degree in Law – PUC-SP. Is civil aviation specialist at National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). Was legal advisor at Infraero, legal advisor at superior court of Justice. Was also Manager of Air Services Authorizations, Manager of Regulations and Projects and Head of Department of Air Services in ANAC. Is member of the Air Transport Regulation Panel – ICAO and also a Member of the commission of experts to review the Code of Aviation.
RICARDO MIGUEL – ABESATA
Graduated both in Aeronautical Sciences, in the Brazilian Air Force Academy, and in Law, in the University Octavio Bastos; Has a Master Degree in Airports and Air Transport, at the University of Brasilia, and in Flight Safety, in ECEMAR. Worked as the Chief Executive of SERAC-2 and as ANAC’s Technical Manager. Has a pilot license, is an university teacher and currently serves as CEO of ABESATA.
Ricardo Sérgio Maia Bezerra – ANAC
Ricardo Sérgio Maia Bezerra holds an undergraduate degree in Law and another in Business, as well as a post-graduation degree in Civil Aviation Management from UNB. In his career, he worked as a legal advisor for FGV, and at the Legal Department and Airport Security Bureau of INFRAERO. He was also board advisor for CONAB. Currently he is Director at ANAC.
ROBERT RUIZ – FAA
Mr. Robert Ruiz is the Manager of the International Programs and Policy Division (AFS-50) in the FAA’s Flight Standards Service.
Mr. Ruiz, who holds an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a B.S. Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, was also the Deputy Assistant Division Manager in the Flight Technologies and Procedure Division.

Multidisciplined airline professional with proven experience in Brazil and abroad. Recent years with a specific and particular focus on IOSA and ISAGO certifications, safety policies implementation, procedures and controls as well as customer service satisfaction and continuous quality improvement.
ROGÉRIO COIMBRA – MINISTÉRIO DOS TRANSPORTES
Is a civil servant specialist in policy and governmental management. He is graduated in Management and postgraduated in Management of Civil Aviation both of them by the University of Brasilia. Since 2004 he works in governments agencies charged with the regulation of civil aviation. Besides, he is member of Air Transport Regulation Panel of International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO. Nowadays, Mr. Coimbra is Secretary for Civil Aviation Regulatory Policy of Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation.
RON REED – SITA
Having worked for SITA for 17 years, Ron Reed currently serves as Director of Business Intelligence Portfolio, where he is responsible for leading the product management team. He began his career in aviation with Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Company and was also employed with Delta Air Lines. Ron has an MBA in Finance and various professional accreditations and memberships such as AMPAP.
RONALD SCHAEFER – IATA
Ronald Schaefer is Assistant Director, Cargo / Ground Operations and CEIV Consulting as well as responsible for the CEIV Pharma Program at IATA. Before joining IATA, Mr. Schaefer accumulated vast experience in the air transport field working as a consultant for Lufthansa Consulting GmbH, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants GmbH and Ferrostaal México.
SÉRGIO MARTINS – SAAB GROUP
Sergio Martins is a graduated Engineer, with MBA in Marketing, Administration and Foreign Trade. Sergio started his career as Air Traffic Controller at Rio de Janeiro Approach Control. He then worked as Flight Dispatcher and Flight Operations Engineer before landing at the business arena, having worked at various international corporations in the air transport industry. By the end of 2014, Sergio undertook responsibility for Saab`s Air Traffic Management businesses in Latin America.
THIAGO MEIRELLES – SAC
Graduated in Business Administration, with a post-graduation in Public Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EBAPE/FGV) and extension course of Airport Infrastructure Management – Regional Airports, from Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA). Professional with 12 years of experience in civil aviation sector in the Federal Government and career server of the National Civil Aviation Agency – ANAC. He held the position of General Coordinator of the Department of Management of the PROFAA in the SAC/PR and Technical Advisor in the Executive Secretariat of the SAC/PR. Worked in coordinating of the air sector planning for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Coordinator of the Technical Special Operations Committee – CTOE of the National Commission for Airport Authorities – CONAERO, and holds the position of General Coordinator at the Department of Airport Management of the SAC/MTPAC.
